welcome to the wiki, if you're seeing this! although i guess i'm using it as a real site, too, now? idk
we've been working on this thing for about a month now, though i bought the domain back in march, and it's kinda sorta mostly in order. still gotta figure out the tag plugin.
but since i've gone to the trouble of adding a blog even though i don't need to, let's summarize:
i figured out how to use filezilla for this, which was very helpful in logging in to begin with.
i added a bunch of stuff i figured i'd need, like the infobox (probably the biggest factor in having a wiki base at all and not just a website. i needed the box that text automatically wrapped around.)
i found a neat template for the wiki and messed around with the colors to make something a little less garish than my usual fare, but still the same purple/yellow scheme. at this point, i dont know if i choose these colors consciously.
through trial and error, i have the page templates set up. i still need to tweak a few plugins to work with ad hominem.
i drew out a homepage and managed to make it real. obviously, the images are missing, but the layout is there. this post is actually part of the attempt to make the landing page a Real Thing people might look at.
as stated, figuring out tags (which are used in the blog plugin automatically, so i guess we'll see soon enough?) and applying them to what i already have here, including templates.
once that's done, i'm basically finished with the sidebar.
porting over all the wiki pages from the wikia, which will eventually be destroyed, either by myself or fandom. whichever comes first.
making sure what i have is up to date with everything else to minimize continuity errors.
and then, eventually, add the rest of it.
...and that's kinda it, really. outside of that, my plans are “publish something please for goodness' sake”.
