Mika is the main playable character and deuteragonist/protagonist of trainWreck. Considered rude and blunt by others, they don't have many friends, and their familial relations can be rocky at times. Their best friend is Kyle.

Mika is typically cold and harsh, keeping their true thoughts to themselves. They have a small group of people they consider important, but their habit of keeping people at arms length inhibits their ability to express their affections properly. This leads to a lot of conflict with Kyle, Momi, and others. Events in the game can force Mika to reflect on how they treat others and change accordingly. Generally one to mind their own business, Mika doesn't like to stir up trouble or go poking their nose into things that seem like a hassle. However, their short temper can sometimes stir up its own trouble.

Mika typically wears clothes featuring the color purple, and prefers pants over skirts. They have multiple sets of hairpins to indicate which pronouns they prefer at any given moment: green (he/him), yellow (she/her), and purple (they/them). They keep their hair on the shorter end.

Mika's run-in with spoiler martin left them “slightly shifted” from the natural course of time. This would lead to them sometimes making different decisions unprompted after a Reset, and also enabled their connection to Kyle when their instability collided with both the Reset and Venture's magic. While the Reset hitchhiking is “fixed” after reaching any ending of the game, the temporal instability would remain unless Mika's time was realigned.

• Mika's officially genderfluid, with the color of their hair pins being the only visual clue to which pronouns they would prefer at any given time.
  • Originally, the gender options were going to be male and female, but due to a certain ending requiring the player to get two other endings, the possibility of the player picking the opposite gender the second time meant I either had to point out that Mika's gender changed for some reason, or else pick a canon gender. I went with both and changed the gender options.
  • The “they/them” setting is simply to have one pair of pronouns, but when selected, they are Mika's pronouns.
• Mika's name comes from “MiCa”, a combination of the placeholder names “Mia” and “Michael”.
• They are demiplatonic.
