Delrna
Delrna (also the Delrna Continuity, the Delrna Collective, or DDRC, when referring to the entire collection as a whole) is a series of stories set in an isolated yet interconnected collection of universes and suprauniverses.
The whole thing is a mess, but serves as the foundation of almost everything you'll read on here. Mechanics and lore are birthed here, to be used in “real” projects. Lord have mercy on your soul if you actually want to learn about the DDRC.
There are 3 suprauniverses in Delrna: Delrna-B, Delrna-K, and Raldna.
Etymology
The name “Delrna” was conceived in the bathroom when i was 13, where i typed a random bunch of letters into my first phone. “Raldna” is an anagram of Delrna, with a letter replaced (“Reldna”). “Kaidre” also serves as a bastardized anagram of Delrna, while also heavily mispronouncing “hybrid” and starts with a “K” because i mistyped “ddrc” as “ddrk” and it stuck.
Delrna etymology is not something you want to dwell on.
Continuities
Over time, the word “continuity” has lost its meaning in regards to Delrna. There are 3 suprauniverses, each with their own overall continuity (the actual definition of the word), a number of universes inside each suprauniverse with *their* own continuities, and then Kaidre. Kaidre is its own thing that has a ripple effect on the rest of the DDRC, existing as a “rule” rather than a place.
Regardless, here's the list.
Delrna (B and K)
For the most part, these two are identical, so we're not going to waste time listing everything individually. The split was to have the best of both worlds when it came to Kindor and Chamos, two stories i had two different ideas for how they could turn out. I couldn't pick, so i didn't.
Delrna is predominated by a strange substance locally known as “the Sphere” but is more scientifically termed as Lethidium. This high density element enables our protagonists to visit the various universes in their respective Delrna. It's also possibly evil, but that involves applying morality to a nonsentient entity. It's not something you really want, regardless.
Dasrok
Light blue.
Liltu
Pale green. Split into 2 dimensions: Lixta and Joxtu, after which the universe is named. See Eltyrium.
Chamos
Red. Their path remains the same until the epilogue. They are the first to meet, but continue on their parallel paths.
Kindor
Gold. Their paths split from the beginning, but follow the same tale all the same. The real change began when those paths converged.
Hyratus
Teal.
Nobten
Orange.
Limetus
Grey.
Seripa
Navy blue. Only exists in Delrna-K.
Raldna
These worlds interact less than the universes in each Delrna do, simply because it's a lot harder to do so.
There is no Lethidium in Raldna, and it has no effect and is neutralized if brought over.
Ortal
Those who use Eltyrium are shunned as “witches”, but it's not illegal. The people just don't like the people who know how to use it as magic. Totally socially acceptable to use it for technology, however. Their hypocrisy is endless. Their extraterrestrial immigration paperwork is to be admired, however.
Solis
Some random single father and his son have been tasked with monitoring the events in Delrna-K, but they stop that once the person who ordered them to do it was detained. This is where Eltyria the character was created (but she was born in Etyros).
Etyros
The effects of mining Eltyrium are found here, if you wanted to study that. Basically Liltu 2.0 but nobody even knows it's happening. Almost every interaction Delrna-B, Delrna-K, and Raldna (as suprauniverses) have is because of Eltyria, with sole exception to Chamos.
Solsor
Because Kindor needed a friend.
Kaidre
So the rule here is that each “protagonist” of the world knows about the existence of the DDRC, whether they interact with it or not. They have a name for their continuity, even if it's not a universe. Unless noted, each story listed here has knowledge of the events of the Kaidre before it.
Lethos
The first of Kaidre, but also the last of Delrna. Exists in their current form as the natural conclusion of Ortal potential path -7, but can exist independently of DDRC influence. Madeline knows all of the above.
Girata
The third. Cassie knows of all above, and Hoshon in its base form. Exists both before and concurrently with Hoshon, but never interacts with any other continuity. Ever.
Rakhen
The fourth. Chanterelle knows all above, but only with Hoshon in its base form. Occurs before Hoshon and Girata, and never interacts with any other continuity.
Sophos
The fifth. Sophie knows all above, and Hoshon in its true form. Sophos is not a place, and Sophie only exists in Chamos-K after the epilogue. Chronologically the first Kaidre to occur.
Taifam
The sixth. Courier knows nothing, but could theoretically interact with Hoshon. Probably won't though.
Hoshon
The second. It's placed last because the trigger for it to happen has not occurred yet. Stella knows all of the above. Occurs at the same time as Girata.
Why?
dreams. most of the time when deciding on these things, i ask “why not” to list all the nuisances to doing something. kaidre was never supposed to exist, but madeline was fun to think about.
also: i was not kidding when i said this is where mechanics are made. eltyrium was made to explain kindor. eltyrium was *named* as a result of figuring out what was happening with solis and kindor-k. i then recycled the stupid rock for magic systems outside the ddrc. if it exists, i have asked myself “how does this work in delrna, if it even can?”
it's a giant sandbox and a big mess. but it is mine.
